My car began life as any other 1986 Buick Regal T-Type. Going to
shootouts, pounding the streets. In somewhere around 1988 I got
interested in car audio. I began building systems of different
levels, until somewhere around 1990 I met up with Bill Williams
who worked with Richard Clark and Dave Navone of Autosound
2000. Through Bills guidance I built a system which rivaled
all but the most extensive systems. I competed at both IASCA and
USAC levels and took a best of fourth place in competition.
After this hobby became too expensive for a family man, I kind
of ducked out of the audio scene. Then through the Grand
National and T-Type Enthusiasts Association (www.gnttype.org)
I began learning a lot about what makes these cars tick. I met
up with a few NJ locals who succeeded in giving me the itch for
more speed. I began to learn about calibrating the computers in
these cars, and soon after I was writing my own calibrations for
my car. After some time, my car had progressed into quite a
quick and fast machine. While programming calibrations for my
car, I became proficient enough that I would program for other
people as well. This is where my friendship with many local TR
racers grew. I began to make these cars fly, and soon I was
taking another step in my hobby.
My car is currently built to produce somewhere around 600hp.
Will it make that kind of power? I don't think so, but it should
be able to. Through the guidance of my engine builder Dan Smith,
I put together a combination that should net me mid 10 second
time slips. The engine right now has approx 100 miles on it and
as soon as I am comfortable with its reliability, we will see
what it will do.
If you use the links above, you can learn a little about the
cars history, kind of how it came about, and some of the other
extraordinary Detroit iron of that era. There is a link to my
friends cars, a couple 9 sec street cars in there. And of
course, what this site is about, my roach... So go grab a beer,
some speed (dont take valium, the content here is enough to put
you to sleep) and wander thru the halls of Buickdome or
Buick-dumb...

2/21/10:
My baby is gone. Sold to a good guy locally who has a true interest in these cars. I hope it gives him years of fun and as few headaches as possible. One day maybe I'll get another, but for right now, other things are taking priority. I feel like shit about it though.
10-05-04:
Took the car to the Wendy's cruise. Met a few locals. One with a 10 sec procharged Mooswang. Nice car, sounded great. Think that was the only competition I had there.
